Not only are bluer skies dominating the weather, but everywhere birds are pairing off to nest and begin another season as parents. Just the other day, a robin searched my backyard for earthworms. As she scurried here and there on the grass, then stopped to tilt her head and listen for finite sounds in the soil, three wiggly worms hung from her beak. Before long, she dug into the grass again—and came up with a fourth worm! Then just as quickly, she flew off into the trees. No doubt, several babies waited for dinner somewhere among the tender leaves. The onset of spring is truly a marvelous event. J
